Every student may experience stress or feeling down at some point in their university life—this is a very common experience. Students may receive outreach from campus advisors from their respective colleges.
If you receive a care message from a campus advisor, we encourage you to first take time to settle yourself before responding. You may reply when you feel ready or when you would like to discuss your situation further—we will wait for you.
Our intention is to let you know that when you need support, and there is no one nearby to talk to, you are welcome to reach out to us to discuss your difficulties and thoughts.
We will invite you to talk about:The event itself and how it has affected you,How these connect to your current situation,Your thoughts, emotions, and internal experiences. Together,we will help organize and make sense of your difficulties, which may lead to new insights and perspectives. Change often takes time—slow progress is still progress.
At the same time, we will also discuss your experiences using available resources. When facing difficulties, appropriately utilizing support systems can help you move through challenging periods.
